Grandma’s B-day Dinner

We had a great time Friday, 1/30 (sorry I’m a little late) at Grandma’s birthday dinner.

It was small (even though we have a HUGE family), but made it easier to talk to the ones who were there. There was even some family that showed up who Grandma hadn’t seen for many many years, so that was a great surprise for her. I didn’t take TOO many pictures, but here are some that I did take, (which aren’t edited or even that great).

Grandma’s beautiful cake. It is peach and brown. Grandma’s favorite color is peach.
Leah (my Sister) made this cake. . .she surely gets her talent from Mom! πŸ™‚

She does this a lot (laugh). Isn’t she cute?!

She is trying her hardest to cut the cake.

I have lost count as to how many pictures I have that look like this. . .Dad is always making silly faces.

I thought the wrapping paper (from Leah) was too cute.

The part of the family that we haven’t seen in a long time. . .I forget how they are related, but I know they are part of the Waplehorst family (Grandma’s maiden name). They even have a park in St. Charles named after the family name.

Joe Waplehorst – who I believe is Gma’s nephew.

She is my Uncle Mark’s wife’s Mom – who we have adopted as our own. πŸ™‚

(Cousin) Mitchell and Grandma – his Mom and Dad couldn’t be there, because they live in Switzerland, and Katie lives in Ohio.

Uncle Don and part of his family. One of his daughters lives in FL, so she couldn’t be there.
Photobucket

Mitch and Michael – laughing because they’re saying “Where’s the pants?”
They have always been real close cousins, because they are only a few weeks apart.

So, the joke is, when they were younger (about 4 or so), my Mom painted them matching airplane sweatshirts for Christmas, and when Mitch opened his up, he screamed “Where’s the pants????”

Grandma with all the cousins that were there (except Leah because she had already left).
There are tons of cousins missing in this picture, like at least 15 or so.

We missed a lot of the family that weren’t able to show up, but we still had a great time, and so did Grandma (which is all that matters).

Your Grandma makes 90 look like the new 70! Happy birthday to her!

I’m assuming your sister makes beau coup bucks in the cake decorating business?
