Not Me Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I sure am not one of those people that can only think of a few “not mes” because I have the most horrible memory ever. And this post isn’t going to only be about the last few days because of said HORRIBLE memory.

That was definitely not me who was tipsy by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning – blaming all my fun on our friend Christi who LOVES making me drink! Mardi Gras pictures coming soon.

It also was not me (and my husband) who were laughing at the adult ladies who were wearing tutus to Mardi Gras. And it was SURELY not me who hollered, “Darn it, I forgot MY tutu this morning.” followed by my darling husband who hollered, “Oh man, I want to wear a tutu.” We weren’t making fun of them, not one bit!

It also absolutely was not me who told some stranger lady to CHILL when we were waiting for another Metro Link train to get us to our destination. I mean really. . .she was all paniced, because we got dropped off in Fairview Heights, because the train that we were on wasn’t going any further, and when it stopped she kept going on and on saying things like, “How are we going to get home now?” “How is the other train going to get here if this train is sitting here?” “We should call 911 to come pick us up.” Etc. CHILL lady. . .really! The next train will be here in a few minutes.

I also did NOT eat like a HUGE porker Saturday evening at GNO. Nope, NOT ME!!!

It was surely not me who lounged around all day yesterday and didn’t even get out of her PJs, why would I do something like that?Β  I wouldn’t – DUH!!

Β

See what I mean about a horrible memory.Β  BLAH!

Your turn!Β  πŸ™‚

Thoughts/Ideas??

Our new kitchen table came in yesterday.

WOOHOO, it looks so good, I love it! (Pictures to come later, of course.)

We’re doing a wine theme, and I was trying to think of something clever to put in the middle of the new kitchen table. Maybe a candle, I don’t know. So I went to google and typed in “wine bottle candle.” A while back we were at the Yankee Candle store and saw three different sized wine bottles arranged to look like a really cool candle holder. Though I don’t know if I want something that big. I’m just not sure.

But, then I got an idea, from something that I found on-line.

Imagine this item below, which is a “Wine Enthusiast Brandy Warmer”. . . .

. . .but, instead of a brandy glass, using a wine glass, the tea light at the bottom and then inside the wine glass a tiny amount the “smelly oil stuff.” (My technical term for the oil stuff.) So the tea light would heat up the oil stuff, and then put a nice smelly aroma in the house. Am I making sense here? I don’t know if a wine glass would be possible, because the stem is longer, maybe I would have to stick with the brandy glass. But the brandy glass is still “wine themed” I guess.

So, it would look kind of like this. (Picture the red stuff as a tiny bit of the “smelly oily stuff”.)
Photobucket

We have a oil burner in the bathroom and I LOVE how it works. It is pretty strong (not a bad strong) and makes the bathroom smell so good. This would probably make the whole house smell good.

What do you think? Dumb? Good idea? Any other ideas/items you have seen?

2/13-2/16 Weekend

YAY for three day weekends!! They’re the best.

We will do it a little backwards this time, because I don’t have many pictures, except for Frday evening, so we will save them for last.

Because Monday was President’s Day (thanks Uncle Abe and Pres Washington), we had a paid vacation day from work. (YAY). Monday morning Ric and I went to the gym. Monday afternoon Leah (Sis), Christi and I went to The Lincoln Theatre (Yes, I said HI to Uncle Abe) to see He’s Just Not That Into You. It was a matinee, plus at the super cheap theatre, so it only cost $4.00 for my ticket. (As opposed to the $9.00 I paid on Sunday.)

It was good, but my antsy self was getting a little antsy towards the end – it was LONG!!!

On Sunday, it was a pretty lazy day. Later that evening I decided that I really wanted to go see Confessions of a Shopaholic. So I called up my awesome friend Melissa and met her at the O’Fallon 15.

I LOVED the movie. It was one of my favorites. Of course, I have a thing for chick flicks, so I knew I was going to love it, plus it was the ONLY movie that I really wanted to see in the theatre. DEFINITELY going to have to buy that one when it comes out on DVD.

Saturday was Valentine’s Day. The morning of Valentine’s Day we spent with my family helping Grandma move into her apartment. It wasn’t too bad, as most of it was done, thanks to Aunt Karen. We had to leave Highland by 3:30, as Ric had made reservations for dinner in Chesterfield for 7:00, and we still had to make it home to shower and change. I had NO idea where we were going, so I was just along for the ride on the way there. We ended up at Wild Horse Grill in Chesterfield. It was pretty good. . .though I don’t think I picked out the best meal for a restaurant like this. I should have tried something different, NOT thinking we were at Red Lobster. (ha)

For appetizers Ric had Smoked Duck Wellington.
(quack quack – poor defenseless little duck! 😦 )
Sorry for the HORRIBLE pictures!!!
Ric had me try it, so I was brave. It was actually pretty good!
Photobucket

And I had Lobster Bisque – which was SUPERB!!!
Photobucket

For dinner Ric had the Cowboy Porter House.
24 oz. cut topped with a smoked Cheddar, shiitake mushroom, spinach, and port wine veal glaze potato hash.
He LOVED it. Said it was tasty. I didn’t have a bite of the actual steak, though I did have a bite of the smoked cheddar with some of the glaze, and that WAS yummy!!!
Photobucket

Look how thick that thing was!
Photobucket

I had Coconut Shrimp. This was just okay. Though, like I said, we weren’t at Red Lobster, who has THE best Coconut Shrimp. SHOULD have gotten a steak!
Photobucket

The potatos and veggies were scrumptious though! πŸ™‚

Afterwards we used Ric’s handy dandy TomTom (which he named DinkDink) and typed in Cold Stone, to find one that wasn’t TOO close (since we were pretty full), but not too far away either. We ended up at the Cold Stone in Kirkwood. If you know me, you know I’m a Cold Stone FREAK!!! πŸ˜‰
Ric got the “Coffee Lovers Only”. I think he picked this one because he KNEW I wouldn’t want to taste it! πŸ˜›
Photobucket

And I, OF COURSE, got the Birthday Cake Remix. MMMMM
Photobucket

And here is our Valentine’s Day picture.
Photobucket

Friday was Ric’s 33rd birthday. I left work around 3:00.
That evening we met some friends at Applebees for dinner. Then we headed to Jerzey’s. (We rarely go there anymore, just usually for special occasions (St. Pat’s day and b-days).
As you will see, the pictures get crazier by the end of the night.
At Applebees.
Friends Melissa and Chris
Photobucket

Christi, being her “normal” self. (Though she really shouldn’t be classified as “normal.” haha)
Photobucket

Leah (Sis) and I with our Martinis.
I wasn’t going to drink, I rarely do ever anyway. Christi made me. The first was a mistake that the waitress just left at our table for anyone to drink. Then Christi ordered me another. I figured I may as well drink during dinner, since I was NOT going to drink at night, since I opted to be Ric’s DD. (Though, he actually didn’t need one – he rarely drinks anymore either) πŸ™‚
I think I was drinking a kiwi one at this time.
Photobucket

This is what happens when we attempt to take a photo together. {Almost} EVERY time!!
Photobucket

Then he gets yelled at, and acts “normal”. (Though I wouldn’t classify him as “normal” either. πŸ™‚ )
Photobucket

Here I am with two of my co-workers, Steph and Kelley.
Photobucket

Leah and Mike. (He started to blink.)
Photobucket

Next was my Strawberry Martini. YUM

The NEW version of The Three Stooges. (Sorry Peter!!)
Photobucket

Katie and I. I was being silly.
Photobucket

Ric’s b-day ice cream, that he only wanted got one or two bites of – because then I stole it. It’s okay, he loves his wife, and he isn’t much of an ice cream eater anyway. Though SOMEONE else is and was excited for FREE ice cream!!!
Photobucket

He could have the cherry though! EW
Photobucket

Whip cream mustache. ha
Photobucket

There is not evidence of it either!
Photobucket

Then it was time to head to Jerzey’s.
When we got there, Christi was obviously really excited that her vodka gimlet came in a glass this time (instead of in a plastic cup). She said, “Take a picture of this!!”
Photobucket

My husband and my BFF. There’s nothing going on here! hehe
Photobucket

Aimee-ism. I don’t know, she was probably saying something funny and hilarious!
Photobucket

Leah

Melissa and I needed a good picture together. I think we did a good job! πŸ™‚
Photobucket

A very cute picture of Chris and Melissa.
Photobucket

The Three Stooges, once again. (There was something we were trying to accomplish here. We were trying to get a vertical picture of the three of us for some frame that Christi has and wanted a picture of us going this way. I think this is the winner.)
Photobucket

Me and my b!tches. No really, they are my b!tches. Ask them!
Photobucket

Add two more in there! [Almost] my whole wedding party was there! πŸ™‚
Just missing the sister-in-laws. (Christi wasn’t in it though. We didn’t know her yet.)
Photobucket

Ric and his good friend Chris.
Photobucket

The four of us. πŸ™‚

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIC!!! πŸ™‚

He was born on Friday the 13th in 1976 and will celebrate his birthday in 2009 on Friday the 13th as well. Do-do-dodo, do-do-dodo – [insert twlight zone theme here]. ha

Let’s take a look at some pictures through the years, shall we?!

I hope our baby(ies) has/have his hair!

Photobucket

This is in 2000. This is what he looked like when I first met him. He was a blondie with long hair.

Trisha likes to. . .

Sarah made me do it!!! πŸ˜‰

Rules:
a. Go to the Google.
b. Type your name and the words β€œlikes to” all in quotation marks. (”Sarah likes to”)
c. Report back on the first ten things that come up for your name.

1. Trisha likes to hang out with her friends and dance. (You know it, I get to do that tonight too! πŸ™‚ )
2. Trisha likes to keep her homely look in Tamil. (I don’t get it!)
3. Trisha likes to hang out with her friends. (DUH – we already covered this.)
4. Trisha likes to act the role of Ramya Krishnan in Padayappa. (Alrighty then!)
5. Trisha likes to team up wtih other staff. (Depends on who it is I guess!)
6. Trish likes to keep fit and is involved in outdoor sports including rock-climbing and hill walking. (I like keeping fit (lately), not so much a rock/hill climber.)
7. Trish likes to get all the info on the important people of your day; siblings, parents, grandparents and close family friends at this time.
8. Trish likes to rev up her own brand of minted sarcasm onstage. (ha)
9. Trish likes to hammer out her stories while walking through the bushland of the beautiful Adelaide Hills, counting koalas high up in gum tress as she goes. (Wow, that’s interesting!)
10. Trish likes to read, spend time online, work on her blog, and play poker. (True. . .all except the poker part. ha)

I mixed Trish and Trisha – because there weren’t too many things for either separately.

Your Turn! πŸ™‚
