NO, not the edible kind!!! 😉
This is a post allllllllll about Cupcake.
What a rough life this little baby girl has had already! First, she was rescued from a puppy mill.
Puppy mills (also known as puppy farms outside of the United States) are large-scale dog breeding facilities that operate under substandard breeding conditions, causing the development of chronic health problems, temperament issues, and hereditary defects in puppies that come from the mills.
If that isn’t rough enough. . .then she finally gets rescued and goes to live at a Humane Society for a few months. Then, on September 15th her dreams come true. A loving family comes in to adopt her and she goes home with her loving family. Little did that loving family know, this little girl had lots of problems. She had an infection at the spot where she was spayed. Then she had two inner ear infections. Cupcake went to the local hospital for one day, was hooked up to IVs and spent the night there. My parents then brought Cupcake home only to learn that she wasn’t healed, so she had to go back to the hospital. It was then that Cupcake had to go into ICU for three days.
She is honestly a very blessed little girl, because how many people do you know that would adopt a dog, only to have all these problems and these HUGE hospital/doctor bills, yet still stick it out with her, not return her to the HS and still love her as much as all of us do – after only knowing her for approximately 5 days!!
Cupcake came home from the ICU the afternoon of my party, so she was awfully scared and very nervous, so my Mom (and a few guests) held her most of the time. She did get a little fiesty towards the middle of the party and start playing with her little pig and began her yapping. Never have I thought I would be SO happy to hear that little yap!!
Here are a few pictures that I took at the party Saturday. Again, she was still a little shy/nervous/scared, etc.
Isn’t she adorable!? 🙂
